ALX A complete line of PumpJacks and accessories for the oil industry - superbly engineered, quality constructed. Waterflooding is the use of water injection to increase the production from oil reservoirs. Use of water to increase oil production is known as "secondary recovery" and typically follows "primary production," which uses the reservoir’s natural energy (fluid and rock expansion, solution-gas drive, gravity drainage, and aquifer influx) to produce oil. The water from injection wells physically sweeps the displaced oil to adjacent production wells. Potential problems associated with waterflood techniques include inefficient recovery due to variable permeability , or similar conditions affecting fluid transport within the reservoir, and early water breakthrough that may cause production and surface processing problems. Waterflood, also known as waterflooding or water injection, is a technique of increasing the production of crude oil from an oil well. In this method, water is injected into the reservoir through an injection well which is drilled parallel to the primary producing well.
This is done through the displacement of oil and free gas by water. In waterflooding, water is injected into one or more injection wells while the oil is produced
